LENTEN ALMSGIVING MILK DONATIONS : We are delighted to announce that a remarkable new Parish record of 497 litres of milk was collected this Lent! St Mary’s School extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed. Thank you all for your generosity and kindness in supporting this initiative.
RETURN TO CATHEDRAL HALL: Please note that as from this weekend, the 11 and 12 April, as renovations to the Cathedral continue, all celebrations of the Holy Mass will return to the Cathedral Hall in August. We thank parishioners for their understanding and cooperation during this time.
CONSECRATION OF THE CATHEDRAL: On 21 April, we mark the 75th Anniversary of the Consecration of our Cathedral. To ensure that everyone can participate fully and comfortably, our celebration will be postponed until we are able to return into the Cathedral. We look forward to combining this special occasion with the blessing following the major maintenance, as well as warmly welcoming Archbishop Sipuka as his Cathedral Parish. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
SACRISTAN TRAINING: We are pleased to announce that the CPD will be hosting Sacristan Training at St John’s in Maitland, commencing at 09h00. We warmly encourage all parishioners who have expressed interest in assisting with the sacristy to join us for this valuable session. While further Parish-specific training will be provided, this workshop will serve as an excellent introduction and foundation for your future service. MASS OF THE NEOPHYTES : Will take place on Saturday, 18 April at Lansdowne at 12h00, with Bishop Sylvester. This is a special Mass, held during the Easter season, is a joyful occasion to welcome our newly baptised and initiated members into the church family. It marks the conclusion of the mystagogy period, as we celebrate the journey of our new members and encourage them in their ongoing commitment to faith. This celebration is open to all who were baptised, received, and confirmed at the Easter Vigil, along with their sponsors. We would be delighted to see you there—please make every effort to attend and share in this happy occasion!
CATHOLIC ENGAGED ENCOUNTER WEEKEND: We warmly invite engaged couples to join the upcoming Catholic Engaged Encounter Weekend, taking place from May 16–17 at the Salesian Institute, Cnr Chiappini and Somerset Road, Greenpoint, Cape Town.
