WORD OF THANKS: A sincere thank you to all who played a part in making last weekend’s Parish celebrations so joyful and welcoming. Thank you especially to everyone who contributed to the bring-and-share tea and coffee gatherings and stayed for fellowship after Mass, as well as to all who participated in our first “Name Tag Sunday” at the Cathedral. A special thank you to the Zimbabwean choirs for their joyful surprise performance at the 10h00 Mass. May God bless all who contributed to the spirit of community and celebration.
MOTHER’S DAY RAFFLE: Our Mother’s Day Raffle continues until the end of May! Please support our youth on their journey to World Youth Day 2027 by purchasing a raffle ticket for just R25. We encourage all parishioners to participate! Every small contribution assists our youth in their ongoing fundraising efforts. Tickets are available at the entrances of all parish churches. Alternatively, email Cara-Mia Moses at cmmoses12@gmail.com for tickets. Thank you for your generous support!
SHONA MASS: The Zimbabwean Community will celebrate their monthly Shona Mass on Sunday, 17 May at 12h00 in the Cathedral Hall. All are welcome to attend!
VOCATION DISCERNMENT: Have you ever wondered whether God may be calling you to the priesthood or religious life? Fr Robert and Fr Paul would like to begin meeting with those who wish to discern their vocation. It will take the form of prayer, conversation, guidance, encouragement, and fellowship as together we seek to discern more deeply God’s will for your life within the Church. Whether you are simply curious or already actively discerning, you are most welcome. If you feel that the Lord may be calling you — even in the smallest way — you are warmly encouraged to get in touch and come along. You are welcome to approach Fr Robert or Fr Paul after any of the weekend Masses, or you may contact Fr Paul via email at cathedralassistant.adct@gmail.com. Alternatively, you may call the parish office during the week on 021 461 1167. Once we have established who is interested, we will set up a date.
MASS INTENTIONS: Parishioners wishing to request a Mass for a particular intention or in memory of a loved one may obtain Mass intention envelopes at each church entrance. Please use these envelopes to submit your request; note that only one intention may be offered per Mass celebration. You will receive confirmation of the scheduled date for your requested Mass within the following week. This longstanding and pious Catholic tradition is encouraged.
ST NORBERT’S KOMMETJIE FESTIVAL OF ART, MUSIC AND LITERATURE: The Archdiocese of Cape Town, together with the Norbertine Fathers, warmly invite parishioners to the inaugural St Norbert’s Kommetjie Festival of Art, Music and Literature, taking place from 18–24 May 2026. Throughout the week there will be library tours, music concerts, poetry sessions, art exhibitions, food and refreshments, wine and beer tasting, tea gardens, and opportunities to meet well-known authors. Special events will also include Baroque organ concerts, Christian devotional music, a sports celebration evening, and much more. Please refer to the flyer on the parish notice boards for further details and the full program of events.
SECRET GARDEN COFFEE SHOP: Kindly support our Secret Garden Coffee Shop, located in the Cathedral Parish Centre. Open Wed-Friday 07h00 – 15h00.
