OPUS SANCTI PETRI (WORKS OF ST PETER THE APOSTLE COLLECTION: This weekend there will be a second collection at all Masses This collection is dedicated to supporting the formation, training, and care of seminarians, clergy, and religious, especially in mission territories

SUNG VESPERS: A reminder that sung Vespers are on the 3rd Sunday of the month and will take place this Sunday 17 August at 16h00. All welcome. Please let your family and friends know. It is a good way to mark the Solemnity of the Assumption.

PLANNED GIVING: All those who still need to return their Planned Giving Forms, this can be done via the collection plate or in the envelopes at the doors to the Churches. Should you still need a Form, please collect one at the back of the Church.

We are coming to the end of this collection period. Please make sure to hand in your completed forms today!

PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL ELECTIONS:  There will PPC elections in the month of September, but as we gear up to the elections, we need to know more about the PPC, its functions and its portfolios. There will be a brief talk over the next month, to inform, encourage and motivate. Please see the posters about the elections around the Churches.

BAPTISM: We move now into the instruction phase. The baptism instruction class will take place with Sr Glynis next Sunday, 24th August, after the 10:00 am Mass.  Specific baptism dates will be discussed at the class. Please make sure that all parents are in attendance. Thank you.

DONATIONS: Thank you to all those who have remembered to bring something along for the St Clare Sanctuary, who support women and children affected by domestic violence. If you would still like to donate soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, roll-on deodorant, facecloths, Vaseline, feminine hygiene products, please drop them off at the Parish Office or you will still be able to drop them into the baskets at the doors to the Church next weekend. Thank you for your kindness and generosity!

SECRET GARDEN COFFEE SHOP: Kindly support our Secret Garden Coffee Shop, located in the Cathedral gardens.  Operating hours on Saturdays are from 08:30 am to 14:00 pm.

Father in heaven, may the faith you have given us in your Son, Jesus Christ, our brother, and the flame of charity enkindled in our hearts by the Holy Spirit, reawaken in us the blessed hope for the coming of your kingdom. May the grace of the Jubilee reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope, a yearning for the treasures of heaven.  May that same grace spread the joy and peace of our Redeemer throughout the earth.  To you our God, eternally blessed, be glory and praise for ever, Amen.
