A BLESSED EASTER: On behalf of Bishop Sylvester, Fr Robert and Fr Christian, we wish all parishioners and visitors a very blessed Easter. There is no-one in the tomb and that is everything! Jesus Christ is risen as he said he would, Alleluia! Alleluia!

THANK YOU: To everyone who participated in making the Easter celebrations a success we thank you. A liturgy like the Triduum does not simply happen, it takes a lot of hard work from a lot of people. To all those who prepared any part of the liturgy – thank you. It is only by working together that we can make a success of something with so many moving parts. This has been a good example of team work and the realisation that we are coming together as a Parish.

EASTER WEEK:  Please be aware that in Easter Week there will be no Masses at the Cathedral. All Masses will be as if it were a Public Holiday: Villa Maria (Mon, Wed, Fri) at 08h00 and Nazareth House (Tue, Thurs) at 09h00. Please note this is the Octave of Easter and is the week after Easter. It should not be confused with Holy Week.

MASS INTENTIONS: Please place all the Mass Intention requests in the collection baskets. You will also receive a call/message later in the week to confirm reception of the envelope and to confirm the date of the Mass,  if you have specified  a date. If you have not heard from the Parish in that week  please contact the office as soon as possible. Thank you.

COMMUNION TO THE SICK IN THE PARISH.  Is there someone in your family who is seriously sick at home, or in hospital, kindly contact the Cathedral Office to arrange for the Sacraments of the Anointing of the Sick and Communion. Please also contact the Parish if you are going to have an operation as we would like to anoint you also before the procedure.

SOLEMN VESPERS AND BENEDICTION: Will begin again on the 3rd Sunday of May (18 May)

FR ROBERT: Will be out of the Parish at meetings in Johannesburg for most of Easter Week.

SECRET GARDEN COFFEE SHOP:  If you are around on a Saturday morning pop into our coffee shop that is up and running at the Cathedral Garden until lunch time every Saturday. Come and support us as we grow this opportunity and ministry.

THE SHORTENED JUBILEE PRAYER:

Father in heaven, may the faith you have given us in your Son, Jesus Christ, our brother, and the flame of charity enkindled in our hearts by the Holy Spirit, reawaken in us the blessed hope for the coming of your kingdom.

May the grace of the Jubilee reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope, a yearning for the treasures of heaven.  May that same grace spread the joy and peace of our Redeemer throughout the earth.  To you our God, eternally blessed, be glory and praise for ever, Amen.

COMMUNAL ACT OF THANKSGIVING O Sacrament most holy, O Sacrament divine! All praise and all thanksgiving, be every moment thine. (X3)
We are always thankful to all those who contribute financially each week. Please prayerfully consider making a donation as it does benefit our parish in many important ways. You are also welcome to use SnapScan or the YOCO tap machines to make a donation.
