MARRIAGE: Please note that if it is your intention to get married in the Catholic Church, you are required to give the Church at least six months’ notice of your intent to get married and to complete your pre-marital instruction classes. Please contact the Cathedral office to set up an appointment with Fr Robert to complete the Pre-Nuptial Enquiry Form.  

BAPTISM:  The Sacrament of Baptism will be administered at the Cathedral on Saturday, 26 October at 18h00.  Baptism Preparation Class will be taking place on Sunday, 20 October at 11h30 in the Parish Hall.  Please note that both parents and godparents to be present.  

ZIMBABWEAN COMMUNITY – ROSARY SESSION:  On Sunday, 13 October a Rosary Session will be held from 11h00 to 13h00 in the Parish Hall.  All is welcome. 

SOLEMN VESPERS AND BENEDICTION:   On Sunday, 20 October at 16h00 in the Cathedral, it is well worth attending as it will be sung by the Cathedral Choir.  Please let your family and friends know.

SECOND COLLECTION: On the weekend of the 19-20 October there will be a second collection in aid of Mission Sunday. Envelopes are available at the entrance.

NOTICES:

It is with great sadness that we inform the Community of the passing of Fr Stanley Botha on Sunday, 06th October 2024.  Fr Robert Bissell and the Cathedral Community would like to convey our condolences to his family. Please keep them in your prayers. 

Funeral arrangements: – Requiem Mass will take place on Monday 14 October 2024 from 10h30 for Tributes followed by Mass at 11h00 at Our Lady of the Annunciation, Milnerton. 

THE SHORTENED JUBILEE PRAYER

Father in heaven, may the faith you have given us in your Son, Jesus Christ, our brother, and the flame of charity enkindled in our hearts by the Holy Spirit, reawaken in us the blessed hope for the coming of your kingdom.

May the grace of the Jubilee reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope, a yearning for the treasures of heaven.  May that same grace spread the joy and peace of our Redeemer throughout the

earth.  To you our God, eternally blessed, be glory and praise for ever, Amen.
