TWENTY EIGHTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME – YEAR A

1st Reading:  Isaiah 25:6-10.  Resp. Psalm:  Ps  23:1-6.  ℟:  In the Lord’s own house shall I dwell for length of days unending.  2nd Reading:   Philippians 4:12-14.19-20.   

Gospel acclamation: May the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ enlighten the eyes of our hearts that we might know what is the hope to which he has called us.  Gospel:  Matthew 22:1-14.

YOUTH FUNDRAISER (CAKE SALE): A HUGE thank you to all the parishioners that so generously donated toward our cake sale. Thank you to all those that came out and supported us as well. We are forever in your debt. A total of R2200 was raised. Thank you once again from the Youth Leadership Team.

BAPTISMS: The next infant baptisms will take place Saturday, on 21 October 2023 during the 18h00 Mass. Please contact the parish office before 13 October to complete the necessary forms.

Formation for parents and godparents (compulsory) will take place on Wednesday, 18 October at 19h00 in the Parish Hall.

SECOND COLLECTION:  There will be a second collection on the weekend of the 21 October in aid of the Mission Sunday.  Envelopes are available at the entrance.

CELEBRATORY MASS for Cardinal Stephen Brislin on Saturday 21 October 2023 at 10h00 at Our Lady Help of Christians, Lansdowne, followed by refreshments.  All are invited to attend.

CATHEDRAL RENOVATIONS: The renovations of the Cathedral, including replacing the asbestos roof, rebuilding the box gutters, and

repainting, is estimated to cost around R12 million. Direct donations can be made to the designated Cathedral Renovations account:

Father Dominic will be away to supply on the island of Tristan da Cunha in the South Atlantic until 17th October with limited internet access.
