TWENTY SEVENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME – YEAR A

1st Reading:  Isaiah 5:1-7.  Resp. Psalm:  Ps  80:9.12-16.19-20   ℟:  The vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel.  2nd Reading:   Philippians 4:6-9.   

Gospel acclamation: I chose you from the world that you should go and bear fruit and your fruit should abide, says the Lord.  Gospel:  Matthew 21:33-43.

YOUTH FUNDRAISER (CAKE SALE): The Youth will be hosting a Cake Sale to raise funds on Sunday, 08th of October 2023 after the 10h00 Mass in the Parish Hall. Coffee and Tea will be provided as this event is doubling up with our Parish “Meet & Greet Tea”.  Donations of any form such as Cakes, tarts, cupcakes or biscuits etc., are greatly appreciated.  We look forward in sharing a cup of coffee/tea with you.  For any further information contact Michelle on 082 475 6311.  Thank you.

BAPTISMS: The next infant baptisms will take place Saturday, on 21 October 2023 during the 18h00 Mass. Please contact the parish office before 13 October to complete the necessary forms.

Formation for parents and godparents (compulsory) will take place on Wednesday, 18 October at 19h00 in the Parish Hall.

SOUTHERN CROSS MAGAZINE: The new edition of the Southern Cross, featuring an article about Cardinal-elect Stephen Brislin, is for sale at R30 a copy.

CATHEDRAL RENOVATIONS: The renovations of the Cathedral, including replacing the asbestos roof, rebuilding the box gutters, and

repainting, is estimated to cost around R12 million. Direct donations can be made to the designated Cathedral Renovations account:

CELEBRATORY MASS for Cardinal Stephen Brislin on Saturday 21 October 2023 at 10h00 at Our Lady Help of Christians, Lansdowne, followed by refreshments.  All are invited to attend. Father Dominic will be away to supply on the island of Tristan da Cunha in the South Atlantic until 17th October with limited internet access. Please contact the office or Father Christian Frantz.
