BAPTISM: Baptism registration will close on the 27th July.   Baptism instruction class will take place on Sunday, 24th August after the 10:00 am Mass.  Please register as soon as possible.

PLANNED GIVING: This week we relaunch the Planned Giving program in the parish! Huge thanks and blessings for every cent we receive from parishioners and visitors. Without this support we could not fund the mission of our Parish. This mission work requires PLANNING! By committing financially, in a structured way, to support the Church’s mission you allow us to turn the PLAN into ACTION! Please see the Planned Giving pamphlet and Form for details.  WE GIVE because GOD GAVE FIRST “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son…” John 3:16.

MANDELA DAY: This coming Friday is Mandela Day where we are encouraged to donate 67 minutes to charity. The staff of Tuinhuis have offered to come and help us clean the Cathedral and the surrounding grounds. We have gladly accepted this offer and encourage any parishioners who can help, to join us at 10h00 for 67 minutes of service. We will have tea together as well. Please do come and join us!

SECOND COLLECTION – 12/13 JULY:  This weekend the second collection will be in aid of the Seafarers fund.  Envelopes are available at the entrance of the church.

UPCOMING PARISH MEETING:        

  1. The PPC meeting will be held on Tuesday, 15th July at 18:30 pm in the Parish Centre.
  2. The PFC meeting will be held on Tuesday, 29th July at 18:30 pm in the Presbytery.

SOLEMN VESPERS AND BENEDICTION:  The sung Vespers will be on Sunday, 20th July at 16:00 pm.  All are welcome and please advertise this broadly.

SSVP (SOCIETY OF SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL): Thank you to everyone who joined the Knitathon.   A reminder; that SSVP will continue with the selling of second hand books (all in good condition).  If anyone would like to donate second hand books and wool, please drop it off at the Cathedral office. Father in heaven, may the faith you have given us in your Son, Jesus Christ, our brother, and the flame of charity enkindled in our hearts by the Holy Spirit, reawaken in us the blessed hope for the coming of your kingdom. May the grace of the Jubilee reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope, a yearning for the treasures of heaven.  May that same grace spread the joy and peace of our Redeemer throughout the earth.  To you our God, eternally blessed, be glory and praise for ever, Amen.
