BAPTISM:  Registration will close on 27 July for Baptism. The Baptism instruction class will be held on Sunday 24 August after the 10:00 am Mass.  Please make sure that you have registered for this baptism. 

SOLOMON SHIKWAMBANA:  Is a seminarian for the Archdiocese of Cape Town and will be undertaking his pastoral work in the Cathedral Parish. He is here for two weeks and we would like to welcome him! All ministries are encouraged to include Solomon in their activities and any events happening in Parish communities are encouraged to invite him to participate. Please do make him feel welcome and include him as this is an important part of his formation.

SSVP (THE SOCIETY OF SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL):  Thank you to everyone who joined the knitathon . as the SSVP we are still selling second-hand books (in good condition).  If you have any to donate, please drop them off at the Cathedral Office. SHONA MASS:  The Zimbabwe Community will be celebrating the Mass in Shona at the Cathedral on Sunday, 6 July at 12:00 pm.  All is most welcome to attend.

UPCOMING PARISH MEETINGS:  The PFC will be on 15 July at 18:30 pm in the Parish Centre and The PFC will be on the 29 July at 18:30 pm at the Presbytery.

SOLEMN VESPERS AND BENEDICTION:  The next Sung Vespers will be on Sunday, 20 July at 16:00 pm.  All are welcome– please do let your friends and family know.

SECOND COLLECTION:  The weekend of 5-6 July there will be a second collection in aid of Peter’s Pence.   Envelopes are available at the entrances of the church.

CATHOLIC MEN’S MINISTRY:  Catholic Men’s Weekend Interest Survey.  This survey seeks to determine interest in hosting a Catholic Men’s Weekend, which will be hosted from 21 to 23 November 2025 at Bergkroon in Wellington. PALLIUM MASS: We Congratulate Cardinal Brislin who today, on the Solemnity of Peter and Paul received his pallium as the Archbishop of Johannesburg from Pope Leo XIV at St Peters in the Vatican. The pallium is the symbol that he is a Metropolitan Archbishop and is given personally by the Pope.

Father in heaven, may the faith you have given us in your Son, Jesus Christ, our brother, and the flame of charity enkindled in our hearts by the Holy Spirit, reawaken in us the blessed hope for the coming of your kingdom. May the grace of the Jubilee reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope, a yearning for the treasures of heaven.  May that same grace spread the joy and peace of our Redeemer throughout the earth.  To you our God, eternally blessed, be glory and praise for ever, Amen.
