STATIONS OF THE CROSS: On all the Fridays of Lent (except Good Friday), Stations of the Cross will be at Nazareth House at 18h00. They will be led by different ministries within the Parish. On Good Friday the Station of the Cross will be in the Cathedral at 10h00, using the Maude Sumner Stations. Next week’s stations (04 April) will be led by the Nazareth House Choir.

LENTEN CONFESSION: Please be aware that there will be NO penitential Service in the Parish this Lent. As we have confessions every Saturday from 09h00 – 12h00, please make use of this opportunity. Thank you.

ALMS GIVING DURING LENT: As a Lenten custom in our Parish, we will be collecting litres of long-life full-cream milk to mix with the ePap for the feeding scheme at St Mary’s School. This makes a huge difference in the learning lives of these young people. All donations may be placed in the baskets at the entrances to the Cathedral, Nazareth House or Villa Maria.

SVDP DONATIONS: As part of our Lenten observance, donations of canned goods may be made to the SVDP. Almsgiving is an essential tenet of Lent and recognising the needs around us and responding, is practically living out our faith.

SECRET GARDEN COFFEE SHOP:  If you are around on a Saturday morning pop into our coffee shop that is up and running at the Cathedral Garden until lunch time every Saturday. Come and support us as we grow this opportunity and ministry.

MISSION WEEK:  From Monday, 31 March to Thursday, 3 April at 19h00 at Our Lady Help of Christians, Lansdowne. Experience God’s love in action.  Come and be part of a week of hope, healing and purpose.  Day 1 – Fr Rohan Smuts, Is it well with my soul?; Day 2 – Fr Emmanuel Siljeur – Grace and redemption; Day 3 – Fr Scott Davidson, Restoration through prayer; Day 4 – Fr Mari Joe – Forgiveness and healing.   All are welcome.

SHONA MASS:   On Sunday, 06 April at 12h00 the Zimbabwean Community will be celebrating Holy Mass in Shona.  All are most welcome to attend.

EVANGELISATION WORKSHOP:  On Saturday, 5 April from 08h30 to 12h00 an Evangelisation Workshop will take place at Christ the King Parish in Pinelands. Please register with this link if you wish to attend:  https://tineyuri.com/2d3mn35s

PALM CROSS WORKSHOP:  Invitation to all Parishioners/Youth (young and old) to make palm crosses on Saturday, 12 April 2025 from 10h00 to 13h30 in the parish hall. We will finish off with an Easter Egg Hunt for the Youth.  Please bring along a donation of Marshmallow Easter Eggs. Much appreciated.  Boerewors Rolls and hamburgers will be on sale.  Please pre-order by Wednesday 9 April via Zaine at zaineperry@gmail.com.

ALTAR SERVICE PRACTICE:  There will be Altar Service Practice on Thursday, 17 April at 17h30 and on Saturday, 19 April at 18h30 in the Cathedral.

PLENARY INDULGENCE:  It is possible to gain a plenary indulgence by visiting the Cathedral as a pilgrim. You need to pray in front of the Jubilee crucifix, pray for the Holy Father, go to sacramental confession and receive communion all in the same day (24 hours). If you want to find out more about indulgences, please see the notices at the back of the Cathedral.

THE SHORTENED JUBILEE PRAYER:

Father in heaven, may the faith you have given us in your Son, Jesus Christ, our brother, and the flame of charity enkindled in our hearts by the Holy Spirit, reawaken in us the blessed hope for the coming of your kingdom.

May the grace of the Jubilee reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope, a yearning for the treasures of heaven.  May that same grace spread the joy and peace of our Redeemer throughout the earth.  To you our God, eternally blessed, be glory and praise for ever, Amen.

COMMUNAL ACT OF THANKSGIVING O Sacrament most holy, O Sacrament divine! All praise and all thanksgiving, be every moment thine. (X3)
We are always thankful to all those who contribute financially each week. Please prayerfully consider making a donation as it does benefit our parish in many important ways. You are also welcome to use SnapScan or the YOCO tap machines to make a donation.
