ADVENT APPEAL:   On Sunday, 01 December, we begin the Season of Advent.  Envelopes are available at all the entrances of the church.  

CATHEDRAL TOUR VOLUNTEERS:

In celebration of the Jubilee Year, the Cathedral will be organising guided tours on Saturdays for the coming year 2025. We invite anyone interested in facilitating these guided tours to please contact the Cathedral office for more information.   

THANK YOU:  A Huge thank you goes out to everyone involved in The World Day of The Poor, form preparation, to donations, handing out of sandwiches, nourish packs and coffee. The recipients were extremely grateful.  Over 1000 sandwiches were distributed.  Volunteers in excess arrived to help distribute. For the first time in many years we had leftover sandwiches and donated them to The Hope Exchange, where Ladles of Love were just about to serve lunch.  

RAFFLE:   St. Mary’s Youth are hosting a raffle. The draw will take place on 22 December 2024. Tickets are available at the entrances of the church at the cost of R10.00/ticket.  Please support.

SVDP NON PERISHABLE DONATIONS:  SVDP urgently appeals to the St Mary’s Parish Community for donation for those in this Christmas. Items are: rice, canned foods, pasta, peanut butter, jam etc, and toiletries. Thank you for your on-going support.

SHONA MASS:  On Sunday, 01 December at the Cathedral the Zimbabwean Community will be celebrating Mass. All are welcome to attend.

ADVENT MORNING OF RECOLLECTION EOHSJ:  On Saturday, 07 December 2024 at Nazareth House from 09h30 – 12h30.

A PROCESSION OF READINGS AND CAROLS FOR ADVENT: Sung by the Choir of St Michael and All Angels, Observatory, will take place on Sunday, 8 December, at 19:00 in the Cathedral. All are warmly invited to join us. Please bring along your family and friends!

SCHOENSTATT (CONSTANTIA) Fundraising Event:  Next year, a group of Catholic women wish to attend an International Youth Festival in Germany! THE SHORTENED JUBILEE PRAYER

Father in heaven, may the faith you have given us in your Son, Jesus Christ, our brother, and the flame of charity enkindled in our hearts by the Holy Spirit, reawaken in us the blessed hope for the coming of your kingdom.

May the grace of the Jubilee reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope, a yearning for the treasures of heaven.  May that same grace spread the joy and peace of our Redeemer throughout the

earth.  To you our God, eternally blessed, be glory and praise for ever, Amen.
