FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER – YEAR B
1st Reading: Acts 9:26-31. Resp. Psalm: Psalm 22:26-28.30-32. R/. You are my praise in the great assembly. 2nd Reading: 1 John 3:18-24. Gospel acclamation: Abide in me, and I in you, says the Lord; he who abides in me bears much fruit. Gospel: John 15:1-8.
SECOND COLLECTION: A second collection will be taken up at all Masses this weekend in aid of the Ecclesiastical Education Fund. Envelopes are available at the entrance.
ZIMBABWE COMMUNITY: On Saturday, 27th April the Zimbabwe Community are celebrating Father Bernard’s 25 years of Priesthood. Holy Mass at 10h00 in the Cathedral then over to the Parish Hall. All welcome. Father Robert and the Cathedral Parish Community would like to extend Our Heartfelt Congratulations to Father Bernard on this memorable occasion.

VOCATIONS PRAYER
God, our Father, Through our baptism, you invite us to share in the gift of life in service to others.
We ask you to open the hearts and minds of young men and women who are discerning a vocation, so that they can know how best to serve you.
May your Holy Spirit give them the courage and grace to respond to your invitation – to your call.
We pray especially for young people to take a leap of faith and say “yes” to serve you as priests and religious brothers and sisters.
Fashion their minds and hearts so that they may serve you joyfully in your vineyard and, by their way of life, become instruments to evangelize – to spread the Good News of your Son, Jesus Christ. He who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen.
