THIRTIETH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME – YEAR A
1st Reading: Exodus 22:21-27. Resp. Psalm: Ps 18:2-4.47.51. ℟: I love you, Lord, my strength. 2nd Reading: 1 Thessalonians 1:5-10. Gospel acclamation: If a man loves me, he will keep my words, says the Lord; and my Father will love him, and we will come to him. Gospel: Matthew 22:34-40.
ALL SOULS’ DAY: On Thursday, 2nd November an additional sung All Souls’ Mass will be celebrated at the Cathedral at 19h00. Other Masses: Nazareth House 07h00, Cathedral 13h10.
DECEASED CLERGY MASS: On Thursday 2 November at St John’s Catholic Church, Maitland at 10:30 am. Refreshments will be served after the Mass in the hall.
SECOND COLLECTION: There will be a second collection taken up at all the Masses on the weekend of the 4th November in aid of Prison Ministry. Envelopes are available at the entrance.
SHONA MASS: Shona Mass will be celebrated on Sunday 5th November in the Cathedral at 12h00 with the administration of infant baptisms. All are welcome.
MORTUARY LIST: The annual Mortuary List for 2024 will be taken up as from now until Sunday, 19th November. Please hand in your list together with your money offering (recommended minimum donation R100). Lists and envelopes are available at the entrance marked “Mortuary List”.
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION: On Sunday, 12th November at the 10h00 Mass.
CATHEDRAL RENOVATIONS: The renovations of the Cathedral, including replacing the asbestos roof, rebuilding the box gutters, and repainting, is estimated to cost around R12 million.
