1st Reading: Jeremiah 20:7-9. Resp. Psalm: Ps 63:2-6, 8-9. ℟: For you my soul is thirsting, O Lord, my God. 2nd Reading: Romans 12:1-2. Gospel acclamation: May the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ enlighten the eyes of our hearts that we might know what is the hope to which he has called us. Gospel: Matthew 16:21-27.
SVP WINTER DRIVE: The SVP is urgently looking for donations of warm second hand clothing, jerseys, jackets scarves, beanies etc. Also second hand blankets. Non-perishable items tinned foods, sugar, coffee, tea, porridge, cup of soup, oil, pasta etc. All goods can be dropped off at the Parish office or the Cathedral.
TRAINING FOR THE PROCLAIMERS OF THE WORD: will take place on Saturday 2 September at 10h00 in the Cathedral Hall. All those who would like to join the ministry are also welcome to attend as this training is a prerequisite.

SOUTHERN CROSS MAGAZINE: The new edition of the Southern Cross, featuring an article about Cardinal-elect Stephen Brislin, is for sale at R30 a copy.
CATHEDRAL RENOVATIONS: The renovations of the Cathedral, including replacing the asbestos roof, rebuilding the box gutters, and repainting, is estimated to cost around R12 million. Direct donations can be made to the designated Cathedral Renovations account: Standard Bank, Account number 070624623. Please approach any of the Finance Council members for fundraising ideas.
BAPTISMS: The next infant baptisms will take place on Saturday 21 October 2023 during the 18h00 Mass. Please contact the parish office before 13 October to complete the necessary forms. Formation for parents and godparents (compulsory) will take place on Wednesday 18 October at 19h00 in the parish hall.
