SEVENTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORINARY TIME – YEAR A
1st Reading: 1 Kings 3:5.7-12. Resp. Psalm: Ps 119:57.72.76-77.127-130. ℟: O Lord, how I love your law. 2nd Reading: Romans 8:28-30. Gospel acclamation: Blessed are you, Father Lord of heaven and earth, that you have revealed to little ones the mysteries of the kingdom. Gospel: Matthew 13:44-52.
SVP WINTER DRIVE: The SVP is urgently looking for donations of warm second hand clothing, jerseys, jackets scarves, beanies etc. Also second hand blankets. Non-perishable items tinned foods, sugar, coffee, tea, porridge, cup of soup, oil, pasta etc. All goods can be dropped off at the Parish office or the Cathedral.
SVP MEETING: On Saturday, 29th July 2023 a meeting will take place from 10h00 to 12h00 at the Parish Hall.
SECOND COLLECTION: The weekend of 05/06 August 2023 a second collection for St Peter, the Apostle (Opus) will be taken up at all the Masses. Envelopes are available at the entrance of the church.
SHONA MASS: On the 06 August 2023 at 12h00 at the Cathedral.
SNAPSCAN: Seeing that many people do not carry cash (for security reasons) the PFC has decided to register the parish for SnapScan. Contributions towards the Sunday collection (only for the first collection towards the parish) can be made via the app at any time. CHANGE IN MASS TIMES: Thank you very much for all the feedback that I received via email. After consultation with the Archbishop it was decided that the weekend Masses remain unchanged. From the 1st of August 2023 there will only be two weekday Masses in the parish.
