LENTEN 2ND COLLECTION: Envelopes are available at the entrance of the church.  You may also use SnapScan or Yoco for the contributions, but please stipulate Lenten Appeal.

ALMS GIVING DURING LENT: As has become a Lenten custom in our Parish, we will be collecting litres of long-life full-cream milk to mix with the ePap for the feeding scheme at St Mary’s School. This makes a huge difference in the learning lives of these young people. All donations may be placed in the baskets at the entrances to the Cathedral, Nazareth House or Villa Maria.

SVDP DONATIONS: Also as part of our Lenten observance, donations of canned goods may be made to the SVDP. Almsgiving is an essential tenet of Lent and recognising the needs around us and responding, is practically living out our faith.

PREPARATION OF ASHES:  Please remember to bring your old Palm Crosses to Mass this weekend or drop them off at the church during the week.  The Catechist will be preparing the ashes for Ash Wednesday. This will take place on Sunday, 2 March at 08h30 at the Parish Centre.  If anyone would like to witness how this is done please feel free to join.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS: On all the Fridays of Lent (except Good Friday), Stations of the Cross will be at Nazareth House at 18h00. They will be led by different ministries within the Parish. On Good Friday the Station of the Cross will be in the Cathedral at 10h00, using the Maude Sumner Stations.

SHONA MASS: Will be celebrated on Sunday, 2 March at 12h00.  All is welcome.

RITE OF ELECTION:  Friday, 7 March at 19h00 at the Cathedral. Please pray for our Catechumens

THANKSGIVING MASS for Cardinal Stephen Brislin will be held on the Saturday, 8 March at 10h00, at Our Lady Help of Christians in Lansdowne. All are welcome.

THE SHORTENED JUBILEE PRAYER:

Father in heaven, may the faith you have given us in your Son, Jesus Christ, our brother, and the flame of charity enkindled in our hearts by the Holy Spirit, reawaken in us the blessed hope for the coming of your kingdom.

May the grace of the Jubilee reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope, a yearning for the treasures of heaven.  May that same grace spread the joy and peace of our Redeemer throughout the earth.  To you our God, eternally blessed, be glory and praise for ever, Amen.

COMMUNAL ACT OF THANKSGIVING O Sacrament most holy, O Sacrament divine! All praise and all thanksgiving, be every moment thine. (X3)
We are always thankful to all those who contribute financially each week. Please prayerfully consider making a donation as it does benefit our parish in many important ways. You are also welcome to use SnapScan or the YOCO tap machines to make a donation.
