Thought for the day

The rush to judgment – so evident in our public discourse – is matched only by the resistance to forgiveness. Endlessly, we investigate, accuse, judge. As we all know, what is needed eventually is forgiveness – but where do we find it?  In the Christian vision we do not have to carry the burden of our guilt forever precisely “because God in his forbearance had passed over the sins previously committed.” (Rom 3:25 NET)  In the current idiom, “we do forgiveness” and so we should!

 Prayer

 God, whose name is mercy, we thank you for your gracious compassion to all. We ask that, as we have received, so we may give and forgive. Amen.

4. STATIONS OF THE CROSS DEVOTION on Friday evening, 12^th April at 18h00 in the Cathedral, Nazareth House and Villa Maria. This will be the penultimate communal celebration before Good Friday morning at 09h00 (19^th April). 

5. HOLY HOUR TO PRAY FOR PRIESTS on Saturday 13^th April in Villa Maria Shrine, at 16h00. For further information please contact Astrid on 083 999 2984 

6. DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY this year is celebrated on 28^th The Divine Mercy Feast will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Wynberg. Confessions will be at 14h00, the Holy Hour will commence at 15h00 and the Holy Mass of the Feast will commence at 16h00. 

7. THE SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION is celebrated on 16^th June at 10h00 

8. THE SACRAMENT OF FIRST HOLY COMMUNION is celebrated on 23^rd June at 10h00 

9. The Women’s Choir from Cologne Cathedral will be singing at the 17h00 Holy Mass in the Cathedral on Sunday 18^th They will give a short concert after the Mass.
