COMMUNION TO THE SICK IN THE PARISH.  Is there someone in your family who is seriously sick at home, or in hospital, kindly contact the Cathedral Office to arrange for the Sacraments of the Anointing of the Sick and Communion. Please also contact the Parish if you are going to have an operation as we would like to anoint you also before the procedure.

SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION:   On Sunday, 8 September at the 10h00 Mass, six young people from our Parish will be confirmed by Cardinal Brislin. Please do come a long and support our young people and most importantly please keep them in your prayers as they make their final preparation for confirmation.

MOVIE DAY:  On Saturday, 31 August 2024 from 12h00 in the Parish Hall. Ticket only: R25, R35 with popcorn or R55 with popcorn, cooldrink, chips and sweets. Hotdogs for R 10 Movie choices include Hidden Figures or Encanto with the possibility of screening Inside Out 2. Everyone is welcome. Donations of sweets, chips and luxuries are also most welcome.

SHONA MASS – On Sunday, 1 September at 12h00 the Zimbabwean Community will be celebrating Holy Mass in Shona.  All are most welcome to attend.

YOUTH MEETING:  On Sunday, 1 September at 11h00 in the Parish Classroom there will be a meeting for the youth of the Parish. All are welcome.

DALES’S FAREWELL:  A reminder that this will be at the 17h00 Mass today, with tea afterwards.

EQUESTRIAN ORDER OF THE HOLY SEPULCHRE OF JERUSALEM: EOHSJ REHEARSAL – the installations of new Dames and Knights of EOHSJ will be taking place in the Cathedral with the Vigil Service at 18h30 on Friday 13 September and the installation at 10h00 on Saturday 14 September. All are welcome to attend. If you are interested in the Order, please contact Fr Robert. There will also be a practice for those being installed in the Cathedral on Saturday 7 September from 10h00 – 12h00 in the Cathedral. Please also keep the new Dames and Knights in your prayers

Father in heaven, may the faith you have given us in your Son, Jesus Christ, our brother, and the flame of charity enkindled in our hearts by the Holy Spirit, reawaken in us the blessed hope for the coming of your kingdom.

May the grace of the Jubilee reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope, a yearning for the treasures of heaven.  May that same grace spread the joy and peace of our Redeemer throughout the

earth.  To you our God, eternally blessed, be glory and praise for ever, Amen.
